Hi Everyone!
I had a great day today in the classroom, despite the students being more energetic than usual. It seemed everyone had the jitters today. The students learned about new rules today in fundations which were a-e,i-e,e-e,o-e,u-e. I was able to help out a lot of students were confused with the new material. I also got the chance to test a couple students who needed to make up from being absent. The students were at different levels academically so it was cool to see how different their thought process was when answering a question. I teach my science lesson next week and I am excited to see how it will go with the students. My goal is to continue preparing for my lesson.
As far as classroom behavior goes we have a student who seems to have behavioral issues. It seems like there has to be something going on at home resulting his behavior. The student comes in upset most of the time and it is difficult to get them to participate. They now have a behavior chart to send home everyday and all his behaviors good and bad have to be marked. One way I would try and solve this problem is finding a way to keep the student engaged and including their interests into the lesson.
