I had a great day at my school this week. I am able to remember all the students' names now and I'm starting to build relationships with the students. I see they're becoming more comfortable with asking my for help on their assignments. This week the students were more talkative than usual so I was glad to see my MT use her classroom management skills. This will become helpful for me when I begin my lesson plans and have to enforce the classroom management skills that my MT uses with her students.
I was able to teach a few lessons this day and get my feet wet with teaching the students on my own. My MT had me work on sentence formations with the class and they really seemed to stay focused throughout the lesson. I liked that when my MT thought I should do something she kind of butted in and went over it as a reminder to me for next time. Overall I feel the lessons went great and I like that the students are comfortable with me to come ask for my help when the teacher is busy. I was also able to use the camera and smart board to go over a few lessons so I'm getting used to working with the classroom technology as well. I went over their power words with them and also gave a few students a quiz.
I'm really enjoying my students and getting to know them. I can see what their strengths and weaknesses are. This gives me an insight of how I need to set up my future lesson plans and how I need to make adjustments for certain students.
