Hello Everyone!
I have been enjoying my field experience and I feel like it is going by fast. I met my goal of learning all the students names and now I am starting to build a bond with them. I am also beginning to take over class a little more. This week I was able to teach a lesson covering the topic of person, place, and thing. This was review for the students so it went by pretty smoothly. I worked with the ELMO camera where I placed the worksheet as the students followed along. I was glad I was able to use the ELMO because it was great practice to work with the technology in the room. I also met my goal of enforcing the classroom management strategies that my MT uses. During the lesson, I had to get the students to refocus so I said "class, class" and luckily they responded with "yes,yes."
Now that we have our teaching schedules I am excited to put lesson plans together and get feedback from my MT. I was able to talk with my MT after school about possible topics for my Science lesson. She was a great help and gave me a lot of great tips. A new goal I have for upcoming weeks is to be more confident in myself when teaching my lessons.
