This week was more of the same cuteness, but it did include a bit of strife :)
I feel that my MT is starting to warm up to me and allowing me to have a little more responsibility in her classroom. This Thursday she included me in the morning questions, I was so happy :). I was literally like a kid in the back of the class thinking, "I hope she picks me to answer the question" :). The question was about favorites and the scholars had to say who was their favorite person, favorite place and favorite food. A lot of the kids mentioned that they loved Sky Zone, of course mom was at the top of the favorite person list and McDonalds was at the top of the food list. One little girl surprised me and said that her favorite person was the little boy that she sits next to in class, he was throughly embarrassed:)))
The strife that I notice is coming from one of the scholars that is new to the class. He is really having a hard time adjusting to his new class and is acting out in ways that are very distracting. He seems to get very discouraged when he is unable to catch on to the math activities in the class and starts to cry and will often times just give up all together. My MT is very patient with him and has gone over to his desk a few times to reassure him that it is not necessary that he knows all the math problems and that is why she is there is to help him and figure out what he knows and what he doesn't. Unfortunately, her reassurance sometimes goes to deaf ears and then the pencil tapping starts and the falling out of the seat and the complete lack of interest in the lesson. I'm hoping that as time goes on this scholar will make some improvements and not be so hard on himself.
