Week 1: Looking Forward to Next Week

I cannot wait to start field observation because I am finally going to be able to observe in person. When it comes to teaching students online, it can be difficult and can cause the students to lose interest. Therefore, I look forward to physically be in classroom with the students. Being in person can help the students to stay focused while providing them with hands-on activites. I am also excited to take the skills that I have learned so far in my previous college classes (i.e., smartboard activites, assessments, etc.), and use them in the classroom to help the students learn in a way that is fun and engaging. I am also excited to be in person because I can physically see how to interact with students and the different ways that they interact with their classmates.  

I am also excited to spend the whole day at the school with the students in the class that I am observing. By spending the whole day with the students, I can get to know them better, learn how a regular school day is planned out, etc. Also, by spending the whole day with the students, they can learn more about me, and feel more comfortable coming to me for questions while allowing me to be a part of their educational career. I am also very excited to be in the classroom because this experience is giving me the knowledge and skills that I need in order to be a successful teacher which makes me more eager to student teach! Last semester I enjoyed observing/teaching the younger students. However, I am excited to be in classroom with older students and help them to learn more about the world around them in a way that is fun and engaging!
