Hello everyone!
I hope everyone had a great first day at your schools and feel just as excited as I am for the rest of our field experience. Today was an awesome first day, all of the staff in the school were so welcoming and very helpful. The school is currently doing testing to see where the students are at academically so the teachers can determine what needs to be worked on. Since there was testing there was a sub in our room, Mrs. Moon allowed me to help the sub and jump right in.
The class goes into 3 different rotations during the day where they go to different rooms for Math and Reading. During these rotations there are students that come from those other rooms. One of my goals is to learn all the names of the students. I can accomplish this goal by paying attention to a characteristic that student has to help remember their name. Another goal I have is to learn the classroom management I will accomplish this by observing hand signals, routine, and procedures for transitions. 😄
