Hello Everyone!
This week I spent more time getting to know the students. I see 3 different groups of students so it has been taking longer to get their names down but I finally got it. I took some time to go visit them at lunch for the last 15 minutes. They were very excited to see me and it was nice to see them without their masks. It was also the first time that I was able to see my MT teach her class and I absolutely admire the way she interacts with her students. She is very understanding of all the catching up the students need to do because of last year. She is patient with her students and always encourages them to keep trying. I am taking notes of how she manages her class and things she does to get back their attention, for example, she says "class class" and the students say "yes yes." That is something I will keep in mind when the time comes to teach my lessons.
A goal I have this week is to begin going over lesson plan topics with my MT and see what she thinks would fit best for her students. I am excited to teach my future lessons and can only hope that everything goes smoothly, but will anticipate hiccups and be prepared for them. I hope everyone is having a smooth experience so far! 😊
