Guided Reading and Independent Work

Today was a better day with the students' behaviors. The students were excited to see me today and it just makes me happy that they enjoy me in their classroom. I get so sad because we are close to the end of the semester which means my last day here is close. The students had to read a small paragraph and answer 4 questions. I noticed that they had a difficult time reading the paragraph and answering them. I suggested that if they needed help, we could read the paragraph together aloud. They thought that it would be better for me to read it and the questions as well. The students listened to me read the passage and questions and they had to write the answer down.

I was able to individually help each student with individual work while my MT was taking students into guided reading. It is beneficial for them because they are getting the help that they need in groups. The students are actively engaged working on near pod learning about the statue of liberty and a refreshment of the water cycle.  The students learned about the water cycle last week when I taught them. They were interested in designing their own. I even heard a student sing the water cycle song that I introduced to them. This makes me happy to know that the students learned.
